World Athletics Championships: Annu Rani To Fight for Medal in Final, Here’s Live Streaming Details

New Delhi: Annu Rani has made it into the finals of the women’s javelin throw remaining just one stage away from the glorious medal that India hasn’t won in 19 years. The Indian athlete threw the javelin at a distance of 59.60 meters. The finals for the women’s javelin throw will take place on 23 July at 06:50 am IST live on Sony Sports Network .

Placed eighth among 12 competitors that have qualified for the final the 29-year-old has a long way to travel for a place at the podium.

Japan’s Haruka Kitaguchi topped the qualification with a season-best throw of 64.32m, followed by Shiying Liu of China (63.86m) and Liveta Jasiunaite of Lithuania (63.80m).

Season leader Maggie Malone of the USA failed to reach the finals after finishing 12th in Group B and 22nd overall with a best throw of 54.19m. The defending champion Kelsey-Lee Barber of Australia made it to the final round as the fifth best performer with the best effort of 61.27m.

Rani had also reached the final at the World Athletics Championships Doha 2019but finished eighth. Annu has a personal best of 63.82m, a national record, set in Jamshedpur in May earlier this year. Rani has qualified for her second consecutive WAC finals in her third appearance in the showpiece. She could not qualify for the finals in London Olympics after finishing 10th in her qualification group.
