Geneva: World Health Organization (WHO) Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, again, warned the world against Coronavirus infection being spread rapidly. He said that the global pandemic may become more crucial and important in the coming months of winter.Tedros Adnom Gbarasis said, “We are at a critical juncture in the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in the Northern Hemisphere. We are standing at an important stage of the pandemic. The situation in the northern part of the Earth is particularly bad.”He further added,” The next few months are going to be very tough and some countries are on a dangerous track. We urge leaders to take immediate action to prevent further unnecessary deaths, essential health services from collapsing, and schools shutting again. As I said it in February and I’m repeating it today: This is not a drill.”The WHO chief insisted that there was no “drill” in the current situation. He also said that some countries are on a very dangerous road.
According to the WHO dashboard, Corona has a global death toll of 1.54 million. While the number of infection cases has crossed 4.15 crore. Another wave of a global pandemic is being seen in many countries.
With 44 million+ confirmed cases worldwide and 31 million people recover, it will be interesting to see how the world leaders control the pandemic during the winter season in their respective countries.
