Kolkata: The first phase of polling is over in West Bengal Election 2021. The political heat is at its peak in West Bengal.
As the political tension rises in West Bengal, violence between the various parties in the fray is also increasing steadily despite the presence of massive numbers of paramilitary forces.
Meanwhile, an attack of Indian Secular Front (ISF) workers has left 13 people seriously injured. The ISF has blamed the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) for the attack, which took place in a village near Nandigram in the East Medinipur district of West Bengal.
The attack left 8 ISF workers seriously injured while five TMC workers also suffered serious injuries.
However, local TMC leaders have claimed that ISF workers attacked the home of a TMC supporter, which led to the violence.
Meanwhile, in the Chakulia area of Uttar Dinajpur district, once again, the hanging body of a BJP worker was found on the day of Holi.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of killing its worker.
According to police sources, the name of the deceased is Akhil Biswas. On March 26, he left home for the nearby market at 6.30 pm, but did not return thereafter. The relatives, while informing the police, searched the area but no clue was found.
On Monday morning, the body of the BJP worker was found hanging from a tree in a suspicious condition in the area. According to reports, Akhil Biswas’s nephew is also involved in active politics on behalf of the BJP at the local level.
Apart from this, five Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers were injured in an attack in Patharpratima in South 24 Parganas district. The BJP has alleged that the attack was carried out by TMC supporters led by Panchayat members Sheikh Nurul and Sheikh Fakhruddin.
The BJP supporters staged a sit-in at the local police station and demanded the arrest of the culprits.
