Weather Update: Heavy rain likely in many states today, IMD issues this alert

Weather Forecast: These days it is raining all over the country. Due to this, where the weather has become pleasant, the problems of people have also increased in many places. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has again forecast light and heavy rain in many areas today.

The IMD has issued an alert of heavy rain in Mumbai even today. Along with this, there is a possibility of rain in Delhi today. IMD has predicted rain in many states including Delhi as well as Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for South Konkan region and Goa and ‘Yellow Alert’ for North Konkan, North Central and South Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada regions. Along with this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit and Muzaffarabad today. On the other hand, Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe are likely to receive heavy rains till July 9.

According to private weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, in areas of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, North Madhya Maharashtra, South-East Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep and Gujarat light to heavy rain may occur.

On the other hand, rain is expected to intensify over Konkan and Goa. Many areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Odisha are expected to experience rain.

The south-west monsoon started on July 2, six days before its normal date of July 8. Earlier, on May 29, three days before the normal date of June 1, the southwest monsoon had started in Kerala. According to MID, there will be good rains in the country in July.
