We have moved from ‘Why India’ to ‘Why not India’: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the reforms brought by his government have changed perceptions about India on a global platform. 

During his address through video conference at the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “It is time to plan, work and focus on nation building, as India’s global role in the next 27 years will be decided.”

The Prime Minister also talked about the importance of industry in India’s development. 

“The world is very positive about the state of India and this positivity is due to the hopes and dreams of 130 crore Indians,” he said.

PM Modi also presented the “Assocham Enterprise of the Century Award” to Ratan Tata, who received the award on behalf of the Tata group. PM Modi said that the Tata group has contributed to the development of the country under the efficient leadership of Ratan Tata. Tata thanked the Prime Minister for the award and praised his strong leadership during the corona virus epidemic.

The theme of the event organized by Assocham, one of India’s top trade organizations, is ‘India’s resilience: self-reliant roadmap towards a $ 5 trillion economy.’ The week-long program started on Tuesday.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Union Road, Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and Union Communications and IT Minister Various speakers including Ravi Shankar Prasad have participated in the event.
