New Delhi: Much to the shock of residents, a crocodile was seen walking on the streets of Kogilabanna village in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district during the early hours of Thursday, July 1. The reptile is said to have made its way from the Kali river in Dandeli town, which is situated about 5 km from the village.
Upon being notified by the local residents, Forest Department officials captured the animal and released it into the river. The video has now gone viral with many sharing it across different social media platforms.
The video was shared on Twitter by ANI. “A crocodile found strolling through Kogilban village in Dandeli. Later, forest officials rescued the crocodile & released it into the river,” reads the caption shared along with the video. The video accumulated tons of comments from people.
A few also took the route of hilarity while replying. A few expressed their relief that the animal was rescued and released into the river.
However, this is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Earlier in 2019, during the Karnataka floods, a video of a crocodile resting on the roof of a submerged house had gone viral, triggering worrisome reactions among netizens.
