Chennai (Aarti Pokhriyal): India all-rounder Vijay Shankar has tied the knot with Vaishali Visweswaran in a ceremony that took place on Wednesday. He was engaged to Vaishali in August last year.
The offical handle of Sunrisers Hyderabad shared a picture from the wedding ceremony and captioned, “Sending our best wishes to @vijay_41 on this very special day. May you have a happy and blessed married life.”
Shankar took part in just seven matches in IPL2020, which was hosted in the United Arab Emirates. In 12 ODIs and nine T20Is in the Indian jersey, Shankar has scored 324 runs with a top score of 46. With the ball, he has nine wickets. He was also a part of the Indian squad in the 2019 World Cup in the UK. The 30-year old cricketer has been retained by SRH for the upcoming edition of the IPL.
He made his debut in the t20 format of the game for the country in 2018 against Sri Lanka in Colombo. His maiden international appearance in the 50-over format came a year later against Australia in Melbourne.
Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) took to social media to share a picture from the marriage ceremony and wished the couple a “happy and blessed” married life.
Yuzvendra Chahal, Karun Nair, and KL Rahul have been among the cricketers who congratulated the 30-year-old following the announcement.
