Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Mahamaya Temple in West Medinipur district during his West Bengal tour on Saturday.
Amit Shah, who is on a two-day West Bengal tour, visited the Maa Siddheshwari Temple and Mahamaya Temple in Midnapore today.
At around 12:30 pm, Amit Shah arrived at the Siddheshwari Temple and offered prayers to Maa Siddheshwari there. After this, Amit Shah visited the Mahamaya Temple and offered prayers.
When Amit Shah had visited Kolkata during his previous West Bengal tour on November 5, he had offered prayers at the Dakshineswar Kali Temple.
On the first day of his West Bengal tour on Saturday, Amit Shah arrived in West Medinipur district after paying homage to Swami Vivekananda in Kolkata.
On Saturday, Amit Shah threw down a challenge to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government led by West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.
Amit Shah asserted that the BJP will win 200 seats during the assembly elections in West Bengal next year.
