Kolkata: The bloody Battle of Bengal between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has gained new impetus after Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited West Medinipur
district on Saturday.
The BJP has launched its campaign for the West Bengal assembly elections to be held early next year with full force. The BJP’s chief strategist Amit Shah’s ‘Mission Bengal’ aims to to break into West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee’s fort.
On the first day of his West Bengal tour, Amit Shah arrived in West Medinipur district after paying homage to Swami Vivekananda in Kolkata, where he performed pooja at the Maa Siddheshwari Temple.
Amit Shah also visited a farmer’s house in West Medinipur district and had lunch there.
BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and state BJP chief Dilip Ghosh accompanied by Amit Shah at the home of farmer Sanatan Singh in Belijuri village in West Medinipur district.
However, this is not the first time that Amit Shah has gone to West Bengal and eaten food at someone’s home. Amit Shah had eaten food at a tribal home during his last visit to West Bengal on November 5 . After this, on the next day i.e. on November 6, Amit Shah had dinner at the house of a member of the Matua community.
Amit Shah, who has arrived for a two-day west Bengal tour, visited the Maa Siddheshwari Temple and Mahamaya Temple in Midnapore today. At around 12:30 pm, Amit Shah arrived at the Siddheshwari Temple and offered prayers to Maa Siddheshwari there. After this, Amit Shah visited the Mahamaya Temple and offered prayers.
When Amit Shah had visited Kolkata during his previous West Bengal tour on November 5, he had offered prayers at the Dakshineswar Kali Temple.
