Population Control: MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq, who is considered to be the biggest firebrand leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP) after Azam Khan, has openly opposed the population control law.
Rejecting the appeal of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath to control the population on World Population Day, Shafiqur Rahman Barq – a member of Lok Sabha from Sambhal – said that producing children is not related to caste but to Allah.
Sambhal Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq, who turned 92 on Monday, said that having children is not in the control of human beings.
“Having children is related to Allah. When Allah gives birth to a child, he arranges for his food and drink and sends it to the world,” Shafiqur Rahman Burke said.
On Monday, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath had appealed for population control.
“The pace of increase in the population of a section in the society is also very fast. Due to this great inequality is increasing in the society. This has to be controlled. Population growth can be controlled with awareness,” Yogi Adityanath had said.
The Samajwadi Party MP said that the BJP government is just trying to divert attention from various issues.
“Instead of enacting a population control law, make arrangements for the education of Muslims. When children get good education, then the problem of increasing population in Muslim community will automatically end,” he said.
Shafiqur Rahman Barq alleged that a particular religion is being attacked ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections so that the BJP can get the vote of a section of society.
“This approach of the central and state governments is not right.
On Monday, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath’s statement that the population is increasing more in a particular section of society is intended to break the morale of the Muslims. The government sometimes talks about reducing the population of Muslims, and sometimes blames Muslims for the increasing population. In order to divert people’s attention from basic things including unemployment, inflation in the country, wrong statements are made by the leaders of BJP,” he said.
