Uttar Pradesh district makes Covid-19 vaccination compulsory for govt employees

Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh): Experts are saying that the coronavirus vaccine is the only way to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, there are some people who are avoiding vaccination due to superstition. In such a situation, to encourage Covid-19 vaccination, the district administration in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad has ordered that government employees will not get their salary until they are vaccinated.

Chief Development Officer Charchit Gaur said that District Magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh has issued a verbal order of “no vaccination, no salary”.

The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday relaxed the coronavirus lockdown in three more districts and implemented this relaxation in 64 out of 75 districts of the state.

To understand the spread of COVID-19 in urban and remote areas of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to conduct a “sero survey” in the state.

“The samples will be collected from June 4 and will be able to assess the updated status of infection on various parameters including gender and age,” the chief minister said.

The survey involves testing the blood serum of a group of individuals to determine the presence of antibodies against coronavirus. The survey report is expected to be released by the end of June.

Uttar Pradesh has a recovery rate of around 97 per cent and a positivity rate of below one per cent.
