US: Joe Biden announces cabinet, Foreign Ministry to Antony Blinken, see the full list here

New York: The exercise to form a new government in the US has intensified. 

Joe Biden will be the next president of the US, replacing Donald Trump.

Joe Biden will take charge on January 20. At the same time, America’s newly elected President Joe Biden has announced the key names of his cabinet on Monday. Biden appointed Antony Blinken, a former diplomat of former US President Barack Obama, as foreign minister.

Foreign Minister – Antony Blinken will be the next foreign minister of the United States. 58-year-old Antony Blinken served as Deputy Foreign Minister Deputy National Security Advisor (NSA) during the Barack Obama administration. Blinken is also a foreign policy advisor for Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign. Antony Blinken has said that he will take his work as a mission and will work with full responsibility.

National Security Advisor (NSA) – Biden appointed Jake Sullivan as its National Security Advisor. Jake Sullivan in the first reaction after his appointment said that Joe Biden has taught him how to protect the country at the highest level of government, adding to that he said that as an NSA, he will do all that is required to protect his country.

Secretary of State – Antony Blinken, who played the role of Deputy Secretary during the tenure of Obama and Biden, has been named for this post.

Secretary of Homeland- Lawyer Alejandro Mayorkas has been appointed as Secretary of Homeland Security. Alejandro held the position of Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security during the Obama-Biden term.

Director of National Intelligence – Avril Haynes has been appointed as the Director of National Intelligence for Biden’s term. Avril has served in various positions for Biden for over a decade now. Haynes would be the first woman to be nominated for the post.

Ambassador for the United Nations – Biden has chosen the name of Linda Tomas Greenfield as an ambassador for the United Nations.

Special Envoy to the President – Biden Announced the nomination of former Secretary of State John Kerry for the post of Special Envoy of the President for Climate. Kerry will be the first officer to hold this position on the National Security Council.

Social Secretary – Carlos Elizondo, Jill Biden’s social secretary during the Obama administration, will hold the same position during Biden’s term. Mala Adiga will serve as Jill’s policy director. Her job will be to set Jill’s priorities as First Lady. She has previously been the director of higher-level education and military families at the Biden Foundation. She has also served as an adviser to Jill Biden in the Obama administration.

Announcing his new team, Joe Biden said, ‘I am proud to announce the names of more members in my team who will bring change during difficult times in America. The dedication to overcome the challenges being faced by our country comes from their diverse backgrounds and experiences. They will serve the people of America and help to create a better, fairer and united country.

Joe Biden will take the oath of office as the 46th President of America on 20 January. Biden will be the oldest US President. With Biden becoming President, a woman of Indian origin has reached the post of Vice President for the first time. Kamala Harris being an Indian origin will be the vice-president.
