Lucknow: Days after registering a massive victory in Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls 2022, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday released the list of candidates for 30 constituencies in the first phase of polling for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council Member (MLC) elections.
Uttar Pradesh MLC elections will be held on April 9 and the results will be declared on April 12.
Gorakhpur region in-charge and BJP’s state General Secretary Anoop Gupta will be contesting from Lakhimpur Kheri, while Yuva Morcha state president Pranshu Dutt Dwivedi will contest from Etawah-Furrukhabad.
From Lucknow-Unnao Legislative Council seat, the party will be represented by Ramchandra Pradhan. Satyapal Saini has been will be contesting from Moradabad-Bijnor local authority area, Kunwar Maharaj Singh will fight from Rampur-Bareilly.
The party has fielded Bagish Pathak from Badaun, Dr. Sudhir Gupta will be contesting from Pilibhit-Shahjahanpur, Ashok Agarwal from Hardoi, Anoop Gupta from Lakhimpur Kheri.
BJP has named Dinesh Pratap Singh from Rae Bareilly seat, Hari Pratap Singh from Pratapgarh, Angad Kumar Singh has been named from Barabanki, Dr. Pragya Tripathi from Bahraich, Awadhesh Singh Manju from Gonda and Hari Om Pandey will contest from Faizabad.
CP Chand, who left Samajwadi Party and joined the BJP, will contest from Gorakhpur-Maharajganj, Ratanpal Singh will be contesting from Deoria and Arun Kumar Yadav will fight from Azamgarh and Mau legislative council.
Vijay Shivhare will represent BJP from Agra-Firozabad, Om Prakash Singh from Mainpuri, Ashish Yadav Ashu from Mathura-Etah, Rishipal Singh from Aligarh, Narendra Bhati from Bulandshahr, Dharmendra Bharadwaj from Meerut-Ghaziabad and Vandana Mudit Verma from Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur.
From Ballia seat, the party has named Ravi Shankar Singh, Pappu Chanchal Singh will contest from Ghazipur, KP Srivastava from Allahabad, Jitendra Singh Sengar from Banda-Hamirpur, Rama Niranjan from Jhansi-Lalitpur-Jalaun, Pranshu Dutt Dwivedi from Etawah-Farrukhabad, Jiya Shivhare from Agra-Firozabad and Dharmendra Bharadwaj has been nominated from Meerut-Ghaziabad.
BJP’s veteran worker Vijay Shivhare, who is also a state minister, will be contesting from Agra-Firozabad. Narendra Bhati, who was a two-time minister and member of the Legislative Council when he was with the Samajwadi Party, has been fielded by the BJP from Gautam Budh Nagar-Bulandshahr.
