Kyiv (Ukraine): US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Ukraine Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba in show of support, reports said.
Kuleba asked Blinken for jets and air defense systems, AFP reported.
According to reports, Blinken on Saturday visited a crossing on Poland’s border with Ukraine people in large number have been fleeing from advancing Russian forces.
Russian forces launched military operations in Ukraine on February 24, three days after Moscow recognized Ukraine’s breakaway regions – Donetsk and Luhansk – as independent entities. Since then, Russian troops have been attacking several Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv and Kharkiv.
Russian shelling have resulted in massive damage in Ukraine and even the residential buildings and crowded civilians areas.
