Two-day liquor ban in Bengaluru after Puneet Rajkumar passes away

Puneeth Rajkumar’s mortal remains were taken to his residence from the hospital. His body will be kept at Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru after 6.30 p.m. for final viewing till late Saturday evening.

Bengaluru: Mortal remains of actor Puneeth Rajkumar, who died this evening due to heart attack, will be kept at Kanteerva Stadium for public viewing. There is a ban on sale of liquor in Bengaluru for two night as  a precautionary measure, the DCP Central, Bengaluru, said. Intensive patrolling is being conducted to ensure no untoward incident occurs, he added.

Puneeth Rajkumar’s mortal remains were taken to his residence from the hospital. His body will be kept at Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru after 6.30 p.m. for final viewing till late Saturday evening. His last rites will be performed on Saturday after the return of his elder daughter Vanditha from the US. His last rites will be conducted with government honors as stated by Karnataka Revenue Minister R. Ashok.

Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on Friday after suffering from a heart attack. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru.

Son of matinee idol Rajkumar, Puneeth is fondly called ‘Appu’ by his fans. He started his career as a child artist with his father in the early 80s. ‘Raam’, ‘Hudugaru’, and ‘Anjani Putra’ are some of his memorable movies. He was last seen in ‘Yuvarathnaa’, which was released early this year.
