New Delhi: The first song from Farhan Akhtar and Mrunal Thakur starrer ‘Toofaan’ titled ‘Todun Taak’ is out. The song shows the tough training undergone by Farhan Akhtar’s character, Aziz Ali, to become a boxing champion. Known to mirror real-life through his songs, it is sung and written by the brilliant hip-hop artist D’Evil, and the music composed by Dub Sharma. In this sports drama, the actor will be seen playing a role of a thug turned boxer who struggles to fight the ups and downs in his life Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial Toofan will be releasing on Amazon Prime Video on July 16.
The song showcases how Ajju turns into Aziz Ali with the help of his coach played by Paresh Rawal. His girlfriend, played by Mrunal Thakur, becomes the driving force behind this life changing transformation.
Sharing the song on Twitter, Farhan and Mrunal wrote, “Ek ki nahin, ye un sab ki kahani hai jinhone zindagi mein na rukne ki thaani hain (This is the story of all those people who are determined to never stop). #TodunTaak song out now.”
The trailer of Toofan released on Wednesday. In the trailer, Farhan plays Aziz Ali, a thug who usually goes by the name Ajju Bhai. He gets into brawls, bullies and intimidates people, but eventually learns that people cowering in fear at the sight of him does not equate to respect. He eventually finds a purpose in boxing. Coached by Nana Prabhu (Paresh Rawal), Ali becomes a renowned boxer in the athletic world. His romantic interest Pooja (Mrunal Thakur) also motivates him to lead a life of honesty.
The film is a motivational story that revolves around the life of Ajju an orphan boy born in Mumbai’s Dongri who grows up to be a local goon. His life changes when he meets a bright and compassionate young woman Ananya, whose belief in him motivates him to find his passion as he embarks on his journey to becoming Aziz Ali, a boxing champion. The film marks the second collaboration between Farhan Akhtar and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Earlier, the dynamic duo packed a punch with Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
