New York: Hollywood actor Tom Holland has made quite a name for himself playing the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man in several movies over the years. The actor has, now, during The Graham Norton Show, recalled his experience landing the part of the masked Marvel crusader.
For the unversed, Holland started his journey as Spider-Man with the 2016 film Captain America: Civil War, following it with Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and the 2018 Spider-Man: Far From Home. He will soon be seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Now, in a report in Entertainment Weekly, which cited Holland’s interview on the show, he revealed that the driver chauffeuring him to his final audition had told him he would land the role in MCU.
Holland recalled, “He’s looking at me in the mirror… and he goes, ‘You know what, kid? I think you’re gonna get it,'” adding, “And I was excited to hear that.”
Holland further added that when he asked the driver why, he said, “I think you’re gonna get it because the kid that I just drove there? He is so good-looking.” Holland would indeed go on to land the coveted part.
Incidentally, the actor revealed he encountered the driver again a few months later while working on his first movie as Spider-Man. Holland recalled the driver telling him that he had told him so, to which he replied, “What did you tell me? That I was gonna get the part or that I was ugly?”
