Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Election Commission alleging that BJP leader Shuvendu Adhikari is harboring criminals in Nandigram, from where he is contesting the upcoming West Bengal Election 2021 against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
In a letter to the Election Commission, the state’s ruling party alleged, “It has come to our notice that Shuvendu Adhikari, candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nandigram AC-210, has given shelter to the criminals, who are non-residents of Nandigram.”
TMC has also shared details of four places near Nandigram where the “criminals” are allegedly staying.
Location 1: Kalipad’s house. It is a two-storied building on the right side of the main road, near Nandigram, Riya Para Hospital. Since December, 30–40 young boys have been living here. All these people have come from Kolaghat, Pingala, Kanthi and Contai. These people ride on 10-12 bikes and a car. These people also have a local guide. Shuvendu Adhikari has been visiting this place regularly.
Location 2: Sharing details of the second location, theTMC said that an election agent with 40-50 people is living in a three-storied building in Haripur, one km from the Chandipur-Nandigram road.
Location 3: House of Pabitra Kar, Boyle-1. The village is a two-storeyed building in Teropkheera, Tengua No.2. About 20-30 people, who are from Balrampur, Jharucharan, Narsinghpur, Jatirmal, Panibitan. Primarily, these people live and eat here.
Location 4: Bhojohari Samanta’s house, in Goyal MSK area, about 20-30 people are staying at this place.
The TMC said that the police have been informed, however, no action has been taken so far. The party urged the Election Commission to intervene immediately and take necessary steps by the police to keep all external “anti-social elements on duty and harassed by the officer”.
