New Delhi: The hotly-anticipated trailer of Amazon Prime Video original web series Tandav was released on Monday. Starring Saif Ali Khan and Dimple Kapadia in lead roles, the political drama is set to stream from 15th January. It also stars Sunil Grover, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Kritika Kamra, Gauahar Khan, Sarah-Jane Dias and Dino Morea in pivotal roles.

In the trailer, Saif plays the role of Samar Pratap Singh who is seen performing rituals for his father’s funeral. Now, he is expected to match his father’s status and become one of the most influential persons in the power and reach the greatest heights. In the sake of saving himself and his position while having foes around every corner, he has to be at top of his game with no space for mistakes.

The drama shows various angels of Indian political realms. While Saif’s character Samar indulges in new battles everyday in Delhi, two students, played by Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub and Shiva Shekhar struggle to make it through their campus lives. Meanwhile, Sunil Grover will appear as a scheming enforcer.

While talking about his character with PTI Saif said, “My character is Chanakya-like, in the guise of a youth leader who comes from a privileged background and aspires to become the Prime Minister.”

He also revealed that the title of the drama “Tandav” was replaced by the previous title “Dilli.”  “I hope it’s not eventually called Dilli. Tandav was the working title which captured more the essence of what the show was about. Dilli is a little thanda (cold) really. I don’t think we have either titles, Dilli or Tandav. We have to work hard to come up with something a little sexier like House of Cards. Something with a little more poetry to the title than just a geographical location,” Saif had told journalist Rajeev Masand.
