New Delhi: Taapsee Pannu has always been talking about discrimination in the film industry between actors and actresses. Now Taapsee has given her views on getting trolled for wearing bikinis for women. Taapsee has raised the question that when men share their half-naked or shirtless pictures on social media and not get trolled?
Recently, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Tirath Singh Rawat had given a statement about women wearing ripped jeans, due to which there was a lot of ruckus on the internet and women also gave them a befitting reply. Now, Taapsee Pannu has asked why women, especially actresses, have to fall prey to online trolling if they share their pictures in bikinis?
To this, Taapsee Pannu said, “What I have seen is that women simply have to listen a lot if they share their bikini photos, but this does not happen to men when they go to their gym and upload shirtless ones.”
Taapsee Pannu was trolled for wearing a bikini in the film Judwaa 2, which was released in the year 2017. A user commented on her pics, “We have freedom of expression in our country, so why don’t you take off the rest of your clothes as well.” Another one said, “Your brother must have liked seeing you like this.” In response to this, Taapsee Pannu wrote, “Sorry i don’t have a brother right now, otherwise I would have asked for sure. Will my sister’s answer will be enough for you?”
Talking about the statement of Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, many actresses and social media influencers, from Jaya Bachchan to Gul Panag, Navya Naveli Nanda along with many other social media users, have given them a bewildering reply and advised them to change their mindset.
