Mumbai: In a major breakthrough, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) will be arresting Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda, news agency PTI reported. The formal process for the same is underway. The two are said to be involved in an alleged drug cartel and will be arrested under the NDPS Act.
Earlier, in the wee hours of Friday, NCB raided Rhea Chakraborty as well as Samuel Miranda’s residences in a possible connection to drug trafficking. After that, the probing agency took Showik and Samuel for further questioning.
Samuel has also been detained under provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. Abdul Basit Parihar, who was earlier arrested by the NCB for drug peddling, has also been sent to NCB custody till September 9.
Another drug peddler Zaid Vitara was also quizzed by the NCB.
Meanwhile, Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti has hailed NCB’s investigation. Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “Good going NCB… Thank You God. #GreatStartNCB.”
NCB came into action after several chats referring to drug exchanges was leaked in connection with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Rhea has already been issued a notice in the NCB case and is likely to be summoned.
