New Delhi: The coronavirus pandemic is breaking new records everyday. The number of Covid-19 cases is increasing at an extremely rapid pace in India.
Precautionary measures such as lockdown and night curfew and Section 144 have been taken by several states to break the coronavirus infection chain.
Uttar Pradesh (UP), Delhi, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh (MP) have imposed weekend lockdowns.
During this period, all markets and offices except emergency services will remain closed. Medical and health related services and supplies of essential commodities will continue during the weekly shutdown.
Fines up to 10 thousand for not wearing masks in UP
The UP government said that for the first time a fine of one thousand will be charged for not wearing a mask. Uttar Pradesh (UP) CM Yogi Adityanath has directed that a fine of up to Rs 10,000 can be charged if caught without a mask again.
Know restrictions in UP
Uttar Pradesh (UP) CM Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to conduct special campaign of sanitization, cleanliness and fogging.
He said that markets, commercial establishments, offices in urban and rural areas would be closed every Sunday till May 15, 2021 for smooth running of this campaign. Malls, gyms, spas and auditoriums will also be closed.
What will be open in UP?
During the weekly lockdown, essential services related to medical and health and supply of essential items will continue unchanged.
The work of dispatch of polling parties for polling of three-tier panchayat general election-2121 will continue to be conducted as per the scheduled time table. Grocery shops will also be open. Restaurants will be open, but only home delivery will be allowed.
Weekend lockdown in Delhi
The weekend lockdown started on Friday night in Delhi amid increasing cases of coronavirus. It started from 10 pm on Friday night and will continue till 5.00 am on Monday morning.
During this period, restrictions will remain in force in Delhi. Malls, gyms, spas and auditoriums in Delhi are completely closed during this period. Cinema halls will be open with 30 per cent capacity. Only one weekly market will be opened in each zone.
There are no facilities for in-house dining in restaurants. Home delivery is allowed instead. All essential services, including marriage, have been excluded from the purview of the weekend curfew. The curfew pass has been issued by the government for the people connected with these services.
What will remain open during the restrictions?
1) Cinemas, theaters, multiplex will be opened with 30 percent seating capacity.
2) Only one weekly market per day will be allowed to be set up with strict SOP compliance. The decision of where the market will take place will be decided by the zonal deputy commissioner of the municipal body.
3) Government officials associated with health, disaster control, police, civil defense, fire service, district administration, accounts, electricity department, water and sanitation, air, rail and bus will be exempt.
