New Delhi: Khushi Kapoor is all set to follow her elder sister Janhvi Kapoor’s footsteps and pursue a career in acting. Janhvi Kapoor who made her Bollywood debut with Dhadak is now winning the hearts of millions of her fans with her acting skills. Bollywood Filmmaker Karan Johar was the one who launched Janhvi and now according to media reports Karan Johar will soon launch her younger sister Khushi Kapoor under the banner of Dharma. An official statement regarding the launching of Khushi Kapoor under the banner of Dharma is still awaited.
Khushi Kapoor’s father Boney Kapoor who is also a film producer confirmed that Khushi will make her acting debut soon. Talking to a leading daily, Boney said “I have the resources, but I would rather have someone else launch her because I am her father and one tends to get indulgent. You can’t afford to do that as a filmmaker and nor is it good for the actor. I would want Khushi to find her own footing. She will be launched by someone I respect and someone I feel secure and safe about.” Earlier, Khushi had flown to the US for an acting course and enrolled herself at the New York Film Academy. During her appearance on BFFs with Vogue Season 3, she told Neha Dhupia that she would follow director Karan Johar blindly but her father will choose her co-star.
Khushi’s sister, Janhvi is now a popular face in Bollywood. She was last seen in the film Roohi in which she was starred opposite Varun Sharma and Rajkummar Rao. Janhvi has just wrapped up shooting for her upcoming film Good Luck Jerry. The film is produced by Aanand L. Rai, written by Pankaj Matta and directed by Sidharth Sengupta. It also features Deepak Dobriyal, Meeta Vashishth, Neeraj Sood and Sushant Singh. Janhvi also has Dostana 2 in which she will be seen alongside Kartik Aaryan and Laksh Lalwani. The film is directed by Collin D’Cunha and produced by Karan Johar under his home banner Dharma Productions. Dostana 2 release date is yet to be announced.
