Speeding Mercedes Wrecks 7 Vehicles In Bengaluru, Killed 1 Trying To Flee

Bengaluru accident: The driver of the Mercedes is under treatment at a private hospital.

A speeding Mercedes car on Tuesday evening crashed into a number of vehicles, killing one and injuring two others

Seven vehicles suffered damages in the accident as 43-year-old Suveeth Cardio attempted to flee the spot after initially hitting a two-wheeler in the city’s Indira Nagar area, police said. The accident victim who died has been identified as 36-year-old Harimahanta was declared brought dead at the hospital. The case has been registered at Ulsoor Traffic Police limit in Bengaluru.

The Mercedes Benz first hit a bike and, in an attempt to flee, it hit a parked Maruti Alto car, killing its driver on the spot, DCP, Traffic (East Zone) Shant Raju told NDTV.

The car was tossed over and hit a couple of other vehicles, and a total of seven vehicles, including two cars, two autos, two tempos, and a two-wheeler, were damaged in the accident apart from the Mercedes.

Mr Cardio, the driver of the Mercedes, is under treatment at a private hospital.

According to the latest available public data, 4,37,396 road accidents caused 1,54,732 deaths and injuries to 4,39,262 persons in 2019 alone. Karnataka saw 40,644 road accidents that year.
