Kolkata: Former Team India captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has been admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata after suffering a mild cardiac arrest.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president was at the gym on Saturday morning when he felt dizzy and complained of “uneasiness”.
He was taken to the Woodlands hospital in Kolkata. The BCCI chief underwent an angioplasty at the hospital.
However, Sourav Ganguly’s condition is now stable and he is out of danger.
West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and CM Mamata Benerjee met the former Team India captain separately in order to enquire about his condition.
“Sourav Ganguly talked to me. He is healthy,” West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said after meeting the batting legend.
It is being said that Sourav Ganguly fell down in the gym due to pain in his chest.
His fans on Twitter are praying for his speedy recovery. According to senior journalist Boria Majumdar, Sourav Ganguly was admitted to Kolkata’s Woodlands Hospital on Saturday morning.
“He felt dizzy when he was in the gym and he went to Woodlands to get the Tests done. That’s when it came to light that there was a cardiac issue and the hospital has now created a 3 member board with Dr. Saroj Mondal who will perform the procedure,” Boria Majumdar posted on Twitter.
“He had a heart issue and is in Woodlands hospital. But is stable will need a procedure confirm hospital sources. Should be out of the woods in the next few hours. I wish him a speedy recovery,” he added.
“Let’s confirm the issue is in the inferior wall of the heart, scans on at the moment and @SGanguly99
will be operated on soon. Doctors confirm he should be fine and all our prayers are with him. Will update asap.”
As soon as this news spread, people on social media started praying for the recovery of Sourav Ganguly.
Many people, including West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and famous commentator Harsha Bhogle prayed for the speedy recovery of Sourav Ganguly.
