Soulful singer with melodious voice – Ramya Iyer

New Delhi: Ramya Iyer aka Ramya is known for her soulful singing in the music industry, her classically trained voice loved by every generation.

Her first solo original hit “Maade” released through Times Music reached no. 1 on Itunes India and topped the iTunes pop charts hitting number 1 in a week’s time. She has also featured in MTV Coke Studio singing her interpretation of the classic ghazal of “Aaj Jaane ki Zid Naa Karo” which became the second most viewed song of the season. Her song “Haaye Mera Dil” on speed records hit 10 million views on the platform. Other than that, her “Pyar Do Pyar Lo” remix on Times Music, “Takdi Rawa” on T Series and many such tracks have been appreciated by the mass audience. Ramya has also sung the track “Now You See It, Now You Don’t” for the film Jackpot which featured Sunny Leone and now has an upcoming release named “Mean” by Music Composer Teenu Arora, on Treasure Records.

Ramya has also been a known name in the Indie scene having collaborated with some of the most renowned producers and artists. She has worked with prominent Asian Underground producer Talvin Singh and Filter Coffee, in addition to being a part of the folk fusion band SUR and electronic alt rock band Killer Fan. She has performed at the NH7 Weekender (Pune), Kala Ghoda Arts Festival (Mumbai), Sula Fest, Social Media Week, Blue Frog (Mumbai) etc.

Her acoustic interpretations of “Aapki Nazron Ne”, “Lag Ja Galey”, “Kehna hi Kya” and “Saiyyan”, were released by Music Mojo with pleasing duets with Deepak K, “Dil Hai ki Maanta Nahi” and “Ek Ladki ko Dekha”.

Her covers of popular 90’s songs on her own Youtube channel, including tracks like “Dil De Diya Hai”, “Tumhe Apna Banane Ki” and “Hoshwalon ko khabar kya” are loved by audiences far and wide.

Other than being a singer, writer and composer, Ramya is also a trained dancer.
