New Delhi: Delhi Police Family Welfare Society chairperson Anu Asthana has sent 100 blankets to be distributed to the needy ones. These blankets were distributed under the supervision of IC/PP SI Narendra Singh Rawat and ASI Kapoor Singh Rautela.
The Police Family Welfare Society is a non-profit organization working under the aegis of the Welfare Unit of Delhi Police. It was established in the year 1972 to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and financial needs of the families of the country’s largest metropolitan police force.
Presently, PFWS runs ten wellness centres, which are located at Malviya Nagar, Vikaspuri, New Police Line, Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh, Model Town, Dwarka, Jyoti Nagar, Ahata Kidara and Narela. Over the years, these centers have evolved into focal points of various activities.
Wives of police officers who are honorary members of the society and team leaders. Their sincere efforts, regular visits to their respective wellness centers and overall commitment have fostered an unbreakable bond. This committee is working as an essential link between the officers of Delhi Police personnel and the families of the personnel. The work being done by this committee for the society includes employment generation in the Delhi region.
Apart from this, these committees also create awareness in the society, stress management, career counseling, promotion of talent in sports, promotion of overall excellence, cleanliness drive and creation of employment opportunities for their retired personnel, women and youth with skills. It also conducts exercises promoting empowerment and their best welfare.
Delhi Police is one big family and PFWS works keeping this spirit in mind. This committee helps the police families to adopt the lifestyle according to the changing world with the changing times. In 2018, the Police Family Welfare Society acquired 12-A and 80-G certificates, under which grants made to this society provide relief in income tax (exemption) and GST.
