New Delhi: The Indian Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been eliminating terrorists under the Operation All Out campaign.
The security forces now have made another major breakthrough in the Kashmir valley. The security forces have killed five terrorists hiding in two places in a 13-hour-long campaign. With the success of the security forces, the ongoing operation against the terrorists came to an end. The army has now killed 12 terrorists in 3 days.
On Saturday, it was reported that 3 terrorists were hiding in Chitrigam of Shopian and 2 in Bijbihara of Anantnag, after which the security forces closed the fort of the area and conducted a search operation. In addition to the 14-year-old terrorist killed in Shopian, the district commander of Alabdar was also involved.
IGP Vijay Kumar said that both terrorists who were killed in Bijbihara had martyred the army jawans in the past. Within two days, the security forces avenged his martyrdom. After taking the bodies of the slain terrorists and the weapons recovered from them, the security forces also announced the end of both operations.
Over the last three days, the security forces have so far killed 12 terrorists. On the other hand, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, while confirming the death of three terrorists in Shopian and two in Anantnag encounter, congratulated the police and security forces for this success.
A terrorist was shot dead within an hour of the start of the Choprigam Kalan encounter of Shopian, which started on Saturday, while two other terrorists were trapped inside the security cordon.
Keeping in mind the safety of the people living nearby due to darkness, the security forces decided to postpone the encounter till dawn. Meanwhile the security cordon was further strengthened.
