Second lot of Spunik-V vaccine to arrive India, while the earlier batch is stuck in regulatory processes

New Delhi: Second consignment of Sputnik-V, the Russian vaccine against Covid-19 disease, is all set to arrive in India on Friday. The first lot of Sputnik-v, comprising 1,50,000 doses, reached in India on 1st May, after an expert panel approved the vaccine to support India’s inoculation drive after Covishield and Covaccine, in view of vaccine shortage complaint was raised by several states.

However, after the two weeks after reaching India Russian made vaccine remains stuck in the government’s regulatory process with no clarity on when it will be deployed.

It has been 13 days since India launched its third vaccination phase, for those are aged between 18-45 years.
