Samsung Galaxy A42 5G now receiving OneUI 3.1 OS update based on Android 11 OS

New Delhi (Anish Yande): Samsung Galaxy A42 5G would be receiving updates for upgrading the OS to Android 11. Users of Samsung devices can update to the One UI 3.1 update based on Android 11 OS. The Galaxy A42 5G was launched in September 2020, running on One UI 2.5, based on Android 10, out-of-the-box. 

The South Korean manufacturer is yet to declare the launch date of the Samsung Galaxy A42 5G in Indian markets.  The Galaxy A42 5G is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy A41 5G which was launched in March 2020.

Specs and features of Samsung Galaxy A42 5G:

Samsung Galaxy A42 5G features a 6.6 inch Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The Galaxy A42 5G comes with a screen-to-body-ratio of 84.3 percent and a pixel density of 266 ppi. 

The Galaxy A42 5G features dimensions of 164.4 x 75.9 x 8.6 mm and a weight of 193 grams. 

Samsung Galaxy A42 5G features a quad rear camera setup which includes a primary sensor of 48-megapixels with an f/1.8 aperture and an ultrawide angle lens secondary sensor of 8-megapixels with an f/2.2 aperture. The Galaxy A42 5G comes with dual 5-megapixel sensors with an f/2.4 aperture, which are macro and depth sensors.

Galaxy A42 5G features a 20-megapixels sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.

Samsung Galaxy A42 5G is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750 5G processor. The Galaxy A42 5G packs a 5000mAh battery with fast charging support of 15W charging. Galaxy A42 5G currently runs on One UI 2.5 based on Android 10 OS, out-of-the-box.

Connectivity features of Galaxy A42 5G include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, 3.5 mm headphone jack. Other sensors on the Galaxy A42 5G include a compass, proximity sensor. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the rear of the device.
