RSS to collect donations for Ram Temple from 5 lakh villages across India

New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has decided that it will send cadres to 5 lakh villages across the country to collect funds for the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Coordination Committee of various organizations associated with the RSS in Gujarat from January 5-7. BJP chief JP Nadda also attended the meeting on the first day.

Addressing the media on the decisions taken in the meeting, senior RSS official Krishna Gopal said, “After Bhumi Pujan of Ram temple on 5 August, people all over the country want a grand temple to be built in Ayodhya. Our cadre will reach 5 lakh villages across the country. We will contact more than 100 million families. We hope to get support from every household.” 

“The minimum support amount for the construction of Ram temple is Rs 10, those who are willing to contribute can contribute Rs 100 and Rs 1000. People of rich backgrounds can contribute any amount for the Ram temple,” he added.

Champat Rai was also present at the meeting of the National Coordination Committee of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. 

Earlier, the VHP decided to launch a large-scale program for the construction of a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. The program of RSS-VHP is likely to start from January 15. 

Champat Rai General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Khaste Trust earlier said, “Voluntary donations will be accepted from the Rama devotees, for which coupons of Rs 10, 100 and Rs 1,000 will be provided.”

Current issues of national importance were discussed in a three-day coordination committee meeting of the RSS and its affiliated organizations. Sources also say that the strategy for the West Bengal elections and the farmers’ protest against the three agricultural bills were also part of the discussion.
