News

New Delhi: RRR is scripting the history with its box office collection. The film, which brings together superstars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in a first, is auteur SS Rajamouli’s much-ambitious project that released five years after his pan-India hit Baahubali franchise. While fans have showered much love on the film, they have clearly not had enough as RRR 2 is already in anticipation. Well, here’s a piece of good news for fans. RRR is not just a film, but a franchise, revealed Jr NTR.

Answering the question about a sequel to RRR, he said, “I’ve used the word franchise thinking, hoping that there would be another world of ‘RRR’ again. Sometimes you just hope and you say a few words hoping it would happen, it will happen. It’s just a way of positive thinking, wanting for more,”

As a part of the prep for his role, Jr NTR had to consume 3,000 calories a day and work with trainer Lloyd Stephens. Talking about prepping for the role, he said, “In order to maintain that muscle mass and not put on a lot of fat was really tough, and it really took a toll on me as a person.”

RRR hit the screens across the globe on March 25. The film took a monstrous opening worldwide and is now wreaking havoc. The film is doing exceptionally well during the second week as well. According to trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, RRR has earned Rs 901.46 crore in just 10 days. The Hindi collection of the film alone stands par Rs 200 crore.

Apart from the lead stars, RRR also features Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, and Shriya Saran in supporting roles, along with the cameos of Bollywood stars Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt. The film is all about a fictional take on the younger days of celebrated freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharama Raju, portrayed by Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, which is set in pre-independence India.
