RIP Puneeth Rajkumar: Last rites of Kannada actor to be performed on Saturday with state honor

Puneeth Rajkumar’s mortal remains were taken to his residence from the hospital. His body will be kept at Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru after 6.30 p.m. for final viewing till late Saturday evening. His last rites will be performed on Saturday after the return of his elder daughter Vanditha from the US.

New Delhi: Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar breathed his last on Friday at the young age of 46. He was admitted to the hospital today morning after complaining of chest pain. Tollywood, Bollywood, cricketers and fans are mourning the death of the late actor and paying their tributes. 

Puneeth Rajkumar’s mortal remains were taken to his residence from the hospital. His body will be kept at Kanteerava stadium in Bengaluru after 6.30 p.m. for final viewing till late Saturday evening. His last rites will be performed on Saturday after the return of his elder daughter Vanditha from the US. His last rites will be conducted with government honors as stated by Karnataka Revenue Minister R. Ashok.

Puneeth Rajkumar passed away on Friday after suffering from a heart attack. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru.

Son of matinee idol Rajkumar, Puneeth is fondly called ‘Appu’ by his fans. He started his career as a child artist with his father in the early 80s. ‘Raam’, ‘Hudugaru’, and ‘Anjani Putra’ are some of his memorable movies. He was last seen in ‘Yuvarathnaa’, which was released early this year.
