New Delhi: Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh took to Instagram to extend a heartwarming wish for the 1983 World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev on the occasion of his birthday. In a Twitter post, the actor shared a montage video from the making of his upcoming film 83 which is based on India’s historic journey of lifting 1983 World Cup.
He wrote, “Colossus of a Captain! Gem of a person! Thank you Sir for embracing us and allowing us to tell your extraordinary story! Here’s wishing the OG @therealkapildev good health and joy on his special day! #ThisIs83 #HappyBirthdayKapilDev”.
Earlier, Kabir Khan has also put up a similar video on Instagram and wrote, “legend for an entire generation. A hero for an entire country. Here’s wishing @therealkapildev sir a very happy birthday. Janamdin Mubarak sir… #ThisIs83 #HappyBirthdayKapilDev.” It will also star Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, Sahil Khattar and Amrita Puri in pivotal roles.
83 directed by Kabir Khan was scheduled to be released in 2020 but was postponed indefinitely in the wake of coronavirus pandemic. The film will also bring back the iconic pair of Ranveer and Deepika back with the former playing the role of Kapil Dev and the latter starring as his wife Romi Dev.
Recently, Kapil Dev had suffered a cardiac arrest in October, 2020 nd subsequently underwent an angioplasty surgery in Delhi.
