Chennai: Superstar Rajinikanth on Thursday received his second dose of vaccination against coronavirus at a private hospital in Chennai. The information was shared via Twitter by actor’s daughter Soundarya.
“Our Thalaivar gets his vaccine Let us fight and win this war against Corona virus together (sic),” she tweeted, while sharing a picture of Rajinikanth being administered the vaccine shot.
It’s not known when the superstar took his first shot of the vaccine.
Lately, many celebrities, including Rajinikanth’s longtime colleague and friend Kamal Haasan, have shared pictures of themselves taking the jab.
The vaccination in the country is being intensified as the country continues to battle a brutal second COVID wave which is infecting over three lakh everyday, while killing over 3,000 people since last 15 days.
Rajinikanth, who is this year’s recipient of the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, wrapped up shooting for his upcoming Tamil movie Annaatthe and returned to Chennai on a chartered flight on Wednesday. His name kept trending on social media on Wednesday after his picture returning from the shoot went viral. The pictures show the actor dressed in an all white kurta pajama.
He had left for Hyderabad on April 7, after casting his vote in the Tamil Nadu legislative elections. to complete the filming schedule.
Annnatthe is Rajinikanth’s much anticipated project. A Shiva directorial, the film has been bankrolled by Sun pictures. The movie was expected to release on Diwali this year but after the shoot for the movie was referred last December after some crew member tested positive for the virus, the release of the film remain on the scheduled date remains doubtful.
