New Delhi: Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to star his political inning. Putting an end to all the speculation, the superstar on Thursday told the press that he has been planning to embark his political journey for quite some time now, but his plans were halted by the covid-19 pandemic.
The superstar said that with his new journey, he plans to transform Tamil Nadu and will work as much as possible for its people. “If we don’t do it now change will never happen,” he asserted.
“We will surely win assembly polls and give an honest, transparent, corruption-free, and spiritual politics. A wonder and miracle will definitely happen,” he said.
On Monday, Rajinikanth met his district secretaries of RMM and had told that he will announce the same soon while talking to the people.
Calling entry in politics spiritual, the actor said it is beyond religion, corruption, and one for the welfare of the people. The superstar asked his supporters to go to every street in the state and pass the message about his purposes and added “when the time is right I will give the war cry, and at that time all of you be ready to support me.”
Rajinikanth had first participated in politics when he openly supported DMK which played a crucial role in party’s victory. Ever since then, many have been expecting him to make his political entry.
After his announcement, though the superstar had explained that he will not join any current political parties, he individually went and met DMK patriarch Karunanidhi to seek his blessings.
Notable, Rajinikanth had earlier announced to join politics on December 31, 2017.
On the film front, Rajinikanth has appeared in over 160 films, predominantly in Tamil cinema. He has also worked in other Indian film industries such as Bollywood, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Bengali.
