Qualcomm and Jio announce Call of Duty eSports event with Rs 25 lakh prize

New Delhi (Anish Yande): Qualcomm and telecomm services provider Jio has announced an eSports tournament for Call of Duty Mobile gamers. The Call of Duty Mobile Aces Esports Challenge would be held for mobile gamers across India.     

Call of Duty tournament would be hosted on the JioGames Esports platform. The chipset manufacturer, Qualcomm has begun a year-long collaboration with Jio. The tournament has a prize pool of Rs 25 lakhs.

In a statement, Jio stated that the collaboration would bring superior gaming experiences to the gaming enthusiasts in India. Several contests would be hosted on the JioGames Esports platform with Qualcomm CDMA Technologies Asia Pacific Pte as the title sponsor.

Where and how to register:

Interested gamers can register from the JioGames platform. There are no registration fees for the Call of Duty Mobile Aces tournament. The tournament is open for Jio and non-Jio users.

Registrations for the Call of Duty Mobile Aces tournament have started on April 1, 2021. Gamers can register until April 11 for the solo gaming tournament. 

Teams of 5v5 gamers can register until April 30. 

Qualifiers of the Call of Duty Mobile Aces tournament would begin on June 11, 2021. The finals are scheduled to be held on June 20, 2021. The tournament would be broadcasted live on Esports HD channel, Facebook Watch, JioTV, and YouTube JioGames channel.

Call of Duty Mobile Aces tournament is a part of efforts from Jio to meet the growing demand for mobile esports. The eSports tournaments are growing in India and Jio is aiming to provide opportunities for gamers through the tournament.

Rajen Vagadia, President of Qualcomm India Pvt. Ltd stated that mobile gaming is a fast-growing segment in India. ‘Almost 90% of the gamers in India are using their mobile as their primary device for gaming.’
