Denmark: Indian Shuttlers come back home as they couldn’t qualify for the semis. Olympic Silver Medalist PV Sindhu lost to South Korean Opponent An Seyoung by 11-21, 12-21.

World No. 8 An did not take long to defeat the star Indian Shuttler in the ongoing Denmark Open. It was Sindhu’s first match after Olympics as she was on a two-month hiatus after the game.

An Seyoung made a superb start and took just six minutes to grab a massive seven-points lead at the break, with Sindhu unable to find a crack in the Korean’s game.

5 seeded Seyoung, showing brilliant sportsmanship, tackled every attack that was posted by Sindhu in the game and made the most out of Sindhu’s mistake.

Sameer Verma in men’s singles also did not go further as he retired in the second game after losing the first game 17-21 against Indonesia’s Tommy Sugiarto, a bronze winner at the 2014 World Championships.

World no. 28 Sameer, who had qualified for the World Tour Finals in 2018 after winning three titles, defeated world no. 3 Anders Antonsen to book a spot in the quarterfinals on Thursday night.
