New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 7th Yoga Day program on Monday at around 6:30 am. PM Modi himself has announced this information on his Twitter account.
According to reports, in view of the coronavirus pandemic, the main event of Yoga Day will be a television program. It will start at 6.30 am on all Doordarshan channels.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, the nodal agency for International Yoga Day, the main theme of this year’s Yoga Day is ‘Yoga for Health’ (Yoga for Wellness).
After the yoga demonstration, PM Modi’s address will be from 7 am to 7.45 am. Minister of State for AYUSH Kiren Rijiju may also address the program. A live demonstration of yoga by Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga will also be included.
According to the information received, International Yoga Day will be celebrated in about 190 countries of the world. Indian missions abroad are coordinating various activities with the countries concerned for the occasion. On this occasion, the Indian Postal Department will issue a special cancellation stamp.
After the Prime Minister’s address, 15 spiritual and yoga gurus will also give their respective messages in various programs. These include Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, Dr. HR Nagendra, Kamlesh Patel, Swami Bharat Bhushan, Dr. Vishwas Mandalik, Sister BK Shivani, S. Sreedharan, Dr. Virendra Hegde, Dr. Hamsaji Jaydev, OP Tiwari, Swami Chidanand Saraswati, Dr. Chinmoy Pandey, Muni Sri Sagar Maharaj and A. Rosie included.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted and said, “tomorrow on June 21, we will celebrate the seventh yoga day. This year’s main theme focuses on practicing yoga for physical and mental wellness. I will address the program organized on Yoga Day at around 6.30 am.”
A statement issued by the Ministry of AYUSH said that reports from different parts of the country indicate that yoga practices have been successfully incorporated in many hospitals in the treatment of corona patients.
