G7 Summit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a tour of Germany for two days from today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Germany late night to attend the 48th G-7 summit.
PM Modi in Germany for two days, after which he will leave for the UAE, where he will condole the death of former UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Sheikh Khalifa had died on May 13.
It is believed that during the G7 summit, PM Modi will give his views on issues like environment, energy, climate, food security, health, gender equality and democracy. Other democracies such as Argentina, Indonesia, Senegal and South Africa have also been invited as part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation on these issues.
PM Modi will hold bilateral meetings with politicians from some of the participating countries. In fact, this invitation to the G7 summit has been given keeping in mind the tradition of strong and close partnership and high-level political contacts between India and Germany.
Significantly, the last visit of PM Modi to Germany was in the month of May 2022. This was the visit of PM Modi for the 6th edition of the India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC).
