New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the voters of Birbhum, Kolkata, Malda and Murshidabad through virtual channels.

In his address, PM Modi lashed out at the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government and CM Mamata Banerjee. PM Modi said that the elections going on in West Bengal are not just to change power.

“I see an aspirant, an optimistic West Bengal emerging in these elections. A craze for peace, security and development is being seen in West Bengal,” PM Modi said.

“Today West Bengal is eager for such a regime where every department of the government should do its work and fulfill its responsibility. This is the reason why West Bengal is voting for a system free of discrimination, full of harmony. As soon as the BJP government is formed in West Bengal, work will be started for every farmer of Bengal to get the last 18 thousand rupees under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. Kolkata has been identified as ‘City of Joy’. It will be developed as City of Future through modern infrastructure,” PM Modi added.

PM Modi also referred to the coronavirus crisis in his address and requested the common people to follow the Covid-19 protocol.

“Even during the vaccine, even after the vaccine, the mask is necessary, it is necessary to cover the entire face with the mask. We have to remember the mantra of medicine as well as rigor,” PM Modi said.

“Our government has built more than two crore houses for the poor under the PM Awas Yojana across the country. After the formation of BJP government in Bengal, the pace of house construction for the poor will be increased very fast. Development is incomplete without the active participation of sisters and daughters. It is the effort of the BJP government that from the birth of daughters to old age they should get all the facilities and incentives so that they can build a better society,” he added.

“I am seeing a yearning for better life, better education, better employment, better options, whether in villages or cities in West Bengal. Our government at the Center has taken revolutionary decisions for the benefit of the agriculture sector and the farmers. Bengal has many types of capital such as mango, litchi, onion, potato, silk, jute. Our government is going to ensure that the farmer gets the full price of his produce directly in his bank account. The silk and jute industry is a strong aspect of self-sufficient India.”
