Peoples Liberation Army will hand over five youths from Arunachal Pradesh today: Rijiju

Guwahati: Union minister of state for Sports Kiren Rijiju said that Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) will hand over five youths from Arunchal Pradesh on Saturday. These youth have gone missing.

Rijiju tweeted, “ The Chinese PLA has confirmed to Indian Army to hand over the youths from Arunachal Pradesh to our side. The handing over is likely to take place anytime tomorrow i.e. 12th September 2020 at a designated location”.

PRO Defence Tezpur (Assam/Arunachal Pradesh) tweeted, “By persistent efforts of #IndianArmy, 5 hunters of #UpperSubansiri, who crossed over #LAC on 2 Sept, will finally return on 12 Sept. #PLA will hand them over to #India in #Damai #China at 0930hrs morning. #LohitValley.”

Even Arunachal police has sent a fact finding team to the village in Nacho in Upper Upper Subansiri district is the last administrative circle along the MacMohan line in Sino-India border. Nacho is around 120 kilometres from the district headquarters Daporijo.

Two people who were along with the five other people have managed to escape. Those allegedly missing have been identified as Toch Singkam, Prasat Ringling, Dongtu Ebiya, Tanu Baker and Ngaru Diri. All of them belong to the Tagin community.

In March this year an Arunachali Youth had crossed over to the Chinese side and after 19 days in captivity, the youth was released
