Parveen debuted with BR Ishara’s film ‘Charitra.’ The film did not break any records but the actress definitely came in eyes. Parveen got her first breakthrough in cinema with Amitabh Bachchan in the film ‘Majboor’ in 1974, she was highly appreciated in this film. After Danny and Kabir Bedi, Parveen Babi and Mahesh Bhatt began to grow closer. Mahesh Bhatt was also married just like her ex-boyfriend Kabir Bedi but that never affected the actress. But unlike Kabir, Mahesh Bhatt left his wife and daughter Pooja and started living with Parveen. This was the time when Mahesh Bhatt was not such a big name, while Parveen was a star. Mahesh Bhatt made the film ‘Arth’ on his relationship with Parveen Babi. Mahesh Bhatt got a name after this film but Parveen’s condition started deteriorating. She started to have a mental illness during her romance with Mahesh Bhatt, which the director had described in several of his interviews as Paranoid schizophrenia.
