Pakistan Army boosts vigil on borders with India, Afghanistan

Islamabad: Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has asked the army to maintain full vigil along the Line of Control (LoC) with India and the Afghanistan border.

According to News International, the two-day meeting of the army commanders at the Military Headquarters in Rawalpindi, along with modernizing the forces at the borders, has also discussed about how to remove the infrastructural weaknesses.

The Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army said that the current challenges facing Pakistan regarding national security have been discussed in the meeting. The Pakistan Army has been instructed to be vigilant on both the borders of India and Afghanistan. Last month there was firing and bombing from across the Afghanistan border. Now the Pakistan Army has become worried about terrorists coming in from Afghanistan.

Bajwa has also instructed his top generals to maintain high standards of military preparedness along the border with Afghanistan. Recently, General Bajwa also presided over the two-day 78th Formation Commanders Conference. 

In this conference, Bajwa was briefed about Pakistan’s meaningful support for the Afghan peace process and steps being taken to enhance border security. The meeting was attended by Corps Commanders, Chief Staff Officers and formation commanders of the Pakistan Army.

On the other hand, an important meeting of the commanders of the Indian Army has started amidst the conflict on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. The purpose of this two-day meeting is to assess the threats from China and Pakistan along the borders. 

In this meeting, besides the Indian Army chief, the vice chiefs of the Indian Army, all commanders, PSOs of Army Headquarters and other senior officers were present. It is believed that in view of the stance of neighbors like China and Pakistan, India has also continued to prepare for tough decisions in future.

As part of the important agenda of this meeting, the Indian Army will discuss the security review on the western and northern borders. 

Along with this, how the Indian Army will make preparations in the next one year will also be decided, including preparations for winter deployment. 

Apart from this, there will also be a discussion on how to implement the theater command of the Indian Army. The At the corps level, the requirements to keep the Indian Army ready for war will also be reviewed.
