Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced the exam dates for Class 10 exam dates that has been scheduled to take place between April 29 to May 6 in offline mode.
The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha conducts the annual High School, Sanskrit Board, and State Open School Examination. The Class 10 exams have been slated between April 29 to May 6, informed Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra.
“For more than two years, not only Odisha or India but the whole world has been severely affected by COVID-19 pandemic, this has also badly affected the students and their studies. During the 2020-21 academic session, the Matric Exams had been canceled and results were declared through an alternative method of assessment,” he said.
Mohapatra further informed that a discussion has been held with all the stakeholders where it was concluded that the exams will be conducted in offline mode considering a huge dip in the Coronavirus cases.
He asserted that the government has come up with the three-tier evaluation criteria to evaluate the answer sheets. The new method includes two alternative methods of assessment as well as a new scheme of assessment as third part. The Board of Secondary Education will finalise those scores which will be highest among all the three rounds.
The move has been taken in order to lessen the pressure on students.
