New Jeep Grand Cherokee to be launched soon, booking begins

New Delhi: Bookings for the new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2023 have officially opened in India. The prices of the SUV are set to be announced on November 11 and deliveries are likely to start by the end of the month.

It will be the brand’s fourth model to be assembled at the company’s Ranjangaon plant in Pune. The new Grand Cherokee will derive some of its design elements from the Wagoneer and Meridian SUVs. Several changes and feature enhancements will also be made inside the cabin.

This time the SUV will be offered only with a petrol engine. The new Grand Cherokee will use a 2.0L turbo petrol engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. It will come with the Quadra-Trac I 4X4 system and selectable off-road modes.

Globally, the American SUV manufacturer sells it in two versions – the 5-seater and the three-row Grand Cherokee L. The former is approximately 294 mm shorter than the latter. In India, the company will introduce a five-seater version of the SUV.

New Jeep Grand Cherokee Features

The new 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee will have a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster. A 10.25-inch touchscreen will also be available for the passenger.

It will continue to come with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), which offers features like pedestrian emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection.

On the exterior, the new Grand Cherokee features a redesigned 7-slot grille, slim headlamps with LED DRLs, a floating roof effect at the D-pillar and upgraded rear pillars.

Recently, Jeep unveiled its new Avenger SUV for the European market. The SUV draws its power from a 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 100 horsepower.

The model is based on the CMP modular platform, which is used in the Citroen C3 hatchback. The Jeep Avenger will also be offered with a petrol/diesel engine and Jeep Selec-Terrain off-road modes – Normal, Eco, Sport, Snow and Mud.
