NEST Exam 2021 gets postponed due to covid-19, new date will be announced soon

New Delhi: The National Entrance Screening Test 2021 has been postponed by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai Department of Atomic Energy – Center for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. A short notice has been issued on the official website in this regard. The notice states that it has been decided to postpone NEST 2021 after reviewing the status of the Covid-19 pandemic. The new date will be announced with sufficient advance notice. Candidates can apply online till 15 July 2021.

The exam was scheduled to be held on June 14, 2021 for admission to the five-year Integrated MSc Program 2021-26, which has been deferred. As per the information, now the candidates will be informed of the new date of the examination at the appropriate time. The online application process for NEST 2021 on the exam portal, nestexam.in, continues from February 24, 2021. Earlier, the last date to apply was 20 May, which has been extended to 15 July. Interested and eligible candidates who have not yet applied, can apply by going to the examination portal.

Eligibility criteria:

Candidates who have passed the Senior Secondary / Intermediate / Higher Secondary (10 + 2) examination in Science stream in the year 2019 or 2020 from a recognized board can apply for the National Entrance Screening Test 2021. Candidates should have scored a minimum of 60 percent marks. Apart from this, candidates appearing in the 12th Board Examination of the year 2021 are also eligible to apply.
