So far all the passengers are reported to be safe. According to preliminary information, a female Naxalite with a walkie-talkie is also among the Naxalites who stopped the train.

The Dantewada SP has confirmed the incident. They have also confirmed that the Naxalites have destroyed the engine and a bogey. If sources are to be believed, the SP has sent DRG personnel to safely evacuate the passengers on the train.

It is worth mentioning that earlier on Thursday, Naxalites had put up a banner and poster in broad daylight between Malevahi Police Camp and Satadhar Bridge on Barsur-Palli road in Dantewada district. Through the banner, the Naxalites had threatened that no businessman should drive his personal vehicle in the Barsoor-Palli road.

Since the attack of Naxalites at the Sukma-Bijapur border on April 3, the campaign against Naxalites in Chhattisgarh is continuing. At the same time, seeing these preparations going on a war footing, many Naxalites had started seeing their results, so for the last several days, a large number of Naxalites have surrendered in the area.
