New Delhi: Ramayana and Mahabharata have a great impact on Indian audiences. Most of us would eagerly wait for Sunday to watch these shows based on the great Hindu epics.  Now, a Muslim man’s rendition of the iconic Mahabharat title track has evoked nostalgia, winning hearts on social media.  The video was shared by Former Chief Election Commissioner SY Quraishi. The clip has over 122k views.

In the 1-minute-9-second video, an elderly Muslim man is seen singing the Mahabharat title track originally sung by Mahendra Kapoor for BR Chopra in Mahabharat. He even paused for the interlude in between, where he made the sound of the blowing of the conch and then continued singing, “Yadha Yadha Hi Dharamasya….” “Beating the stereotypes (sic),” Dr SY Quraishi captioned the video.

The video took social media by storm, with a number of people commenting on how great it is and the person’s delivery of the shlokas left many impressed as well.

“It is really superb (sic),” a user commented. “This is epic (sic),” another user wrote. “Beautiful; least because of the person’s attire. Such a great voice and clear pronunciation, not sure if I’d be half as good delivering a verse in Urdu. Refreshing,” another comment read.
