Musical evening at freezing Dal Lake in Kashmir

Aasif Suhaf, Srinagar: While Kashmir is facing the coldest winter in years with temperatures dipping to minus 8 degrees, to warm the atmosphere the Indian Army organised the finals of Shaurya, JK’s biggest talent hunt program.

Legendary Singer Sukhvinder Singh specially flew from Mumbai to perform with the top ten selected musicians and singers of Jammu & Kashmir on Monday evening. 

Five musicians from Kashmir and five musicians from Jammu were selected among thousands of youth who auditioned for the finals. 

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha was the chief guest at the function, while the Indian Army’s 15 Corps GOC Lt Gen B S Raju and other top army officials were present during the occasion.

The audience was mesmerised by the concert and all youngsters wanted this kind of shows and activities should continue in the future as well. 

The ten finalists will travel across India and perform at various concerts and occasions.

Singer Sukhwinder performed some of his best songs and enthralled the whole audience. He also prayed for peace in the Kashmir Valley. A song was released by Sukhwinder with the ten finalists who were selected. The song is a prayer for peace in the Kashmir Valley.

At the end of the final event, LG Manoj Sinha felicitated the youth icons of the valley for their best performance.
